2010 Games Get Official Dairy Supplier

dairylandmilk.gif

The Olympic Games get all sorts of official suppliers. We've seen everything from the official cellular service provider to the official firm to provide data infrastructure, but today's announcement is a little less technical. They say that milk does a body good, so the Olympic organizers have named Saputo as the official dairy supplier for 2010.

You may not recognize the Saputo name, but you've probably purchased many of the company's products over the years. That's because Saputo Incorporated is the firm behind such popular brand names as Dairyland, Armstrong Cheese, Nutrilait, and Baxter.

The Quebec-based company's $3 million, five-year partnership with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) will see Saputo's packaged dairy products, including among others those sold under the Saputo, Armstrong and Dairyland brands, supplied to the Vancouver and Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Villages and at venues during the 2010 Winter Games. Saputo will also be the Official Supplier of packaged dairy products for the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic teams competing in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
