2010 Commemorative Circulation Coin

coins.jpg

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are just around the corner, so in keeping with the commemorative spirit, the Royal Canadian Mint is preparing a special coin to celebrate the occasion. The newest coin to join the Vancouver 2010 collection features the sport of figure skating.

The figure skating coin, which will enter circulation, is not the first in the Vancouver 2010 collection. In fact, this is the ninth coin to be issued in celebration of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2010.

To get your first look at the new coin, you'll need to hop on a plane over to Winnipeg where it will be official unveiled and showcased at the Royal Canadian Mint's Lagimodiere Boulevard boutique. The special event will take place on Friday between 9am and 5pm and on Saturday during the same hours.
