$14 Billion for Vancouver Transit Improvements

According to CBC.ca, BC Premier, Gordon Campbell, has unveiled a new plan to improve and expand the GVRD's tranist system. Some of these improvements include:

• An Evergreen Line to connect the Tri-Cities area
• A new UBC Line
• Upgrades to the Expo Line
• Work on the Canada Line
• 1500 new buses that are considered clean energy buses

As Michael let us know a few days ago about the $5 trip from Surrey to Vancouver, one has to wonder how much higher our transit rates are going to go up over the coming years?

The aim of this initiative is to increase ridership of the transit system and reduce greenhouse gases by the year 2020.
