13th annual Chinatown Night Market opens this Friday

Every year, Vancouver's Chinatown is home to a summertime night market every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This year's market, the 13th, opens on Friday May 16. It's a wonderful festival-like atmosphere featuring folk dancing, singing, magic shows, martial arts, lion dance, and bands -- plus, of course, hundreds of booths with traditional Chinese crafts, clothing, and food as well as more modern items.

The market happens 6:30 - 11:30 every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now until September 7 on Keefer and Main St. between Main and Columbis.
